Bearded Collie dogs are an active, outgoing, intelligent, affectionate, and boisterous making them a great family dog.

 The Bearded Collie is a very intelligent dog breed which makes them easy to train. They can learn new commands really fast. They are always ready for action and are happy to join their family in any activity.

They make good partners and love working with their owners. These dog breeds also make a good therapy dog, one reason why people love them!

They do not like being alone and can get destructive when left alone for hours. You have to learn to deal with their barking. They bark when bored or lonely. They often bark when they are happy as well.

Beardies can be a touch stubborn and do require obedience training but they love pleasing their owners. They may not obey commands if they don't see the point, and they are rather famous for keeping their owners humble.

They've been known to open cupboards and steal food, counter surf, and eat television remotes.

If raised around other animals, they get along just fine. The Bearded Collie dogs love children and do not mind spending time with them.

Verdict: The Bearded Collie sheds a fair amount of hair. You'll find hair stuck to your couch, carpets, clothes and everything else in your home. The long coat of the Bearded Collie requires brushing a few times a week to keep it tangle-free. If you can spend a good hour every day playing with them and taking care of them, this dog is just for you!
